Hartford, Connecticut — Here’s an opportunity to clean out closets and make a difference by supporting The Network Against Domestic Abuse.
On Sunday, June 3, 2012, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, The Network Against Domestic Abuse will team up with Charities of Hope to host a Clothing and Shoe donation drive. The event is open to the community, and you can drop off your items for donation at our table located at Shop Rite of Enfield’s 2nd Anniversary Event, 40 Hazard Avenue, Enfield.
According to Charities of Hope event coordinator Siobhan Becker: “We have the highest regard for the work that The Network Against Domestic Abuse does, so it was a very easy decision to work with this organization. Our goal is to raise 10,000 pounds of clothes so we need the community to come out and support our efforts.”
Accepted donations include:
- clothing
- accessories (purses, backpacks, hats, gloves, ties, scarves, belts, etc.)
- household fabrics (bedding, curtains, towels, bath mats, etc.)
*Please no furniture, appliances, or toys. If you can, please put clothing in well-tied, plastic garbage bags and package shoes in a separate bag.
The Network Against Domestic Abuse believes in the rights of all persons to live in a safe and unthreatening environment. The Network assists families and individuals who have experienced domestic and interpersonal violence, educates to promote healthy relationships, and advocates for safer communities. Charities of Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the blessings received in one’s life journey by ‘giving back’ to local communities. We operate a true not-for-profit that changes people’s clothing or shoe donations into a monetary donation to a charity. Charities of Hope offers organizations an opportunity to raise funds for their favorite charity, local school or community organizations. Matt Dalen’s [Feb. 9] article, “Where do clothes go from Elm Street charity drop?” was much needed and long overdue. Too many of these clothing collection bin organizations hide behind charities and prey on the good nature of folks that just to want to give their unwanted clothing or shoes to a worthy cause. Charities of Hope is partnering with Chariots of Hope to “Make a Difference”.
Chariots of Hope, a nonprofit organization, has been established for the purpose of collecting used wheelchairs. The donated wheelchairs are then repaired and distributed, at no cost to the recipient, to those in need. Charities of Hope is now excepting donations of used wheel chairs for Chariots of Hope.
This collection effort is a part of the Charities of Hope Help Us – Help You program. Help Us – Help You is an innovative way to help the community, and nonprofits to prosper through monetary donations, and assistants as needed with donation collections and much more.

Come Shop! Children clothes, furniture & toys, home goods, gently used clothing, furniture, and more! Proceeds will go to the Charities of Hope Holiday Giving which provides either food, shelter, or other provisions to the community in need.
