CHARITIES OF HOPE WORKS HARDER
to make your unwanted clothes and shoes become dreams come true for a variety of charities!
John's dream is this: Establish a charity that does what it claims to do. Give back to the community and to causes and charities that help those who need it most. Operate a true not-for-profit organization that changes peoples clothing or shoe donations into a monetary donation to a charity. And do this with integrity and honesty.
Where your clothes and shoes end up : Charities of Hope collects your clothes and shoes from our drop boxes. From there we transport it to our warehouse to sort and bail it. It is sold by the pound, and ultimately ends up in third world countries, and local American social service institutes.
A bit of reality : While the price of clothes stays the same, our overhead does not. In spite of our warehouse lease, vehicle gas, utilities, bailer, and modest salaries, we work hard to keep our expenses low.
A message from John.
" I founded Charities of Hope in 2002. as a way of helping those less fortunate than me-be it by illness, poverty, addiction, or any of the many ways life can affect anyone, anytime. I was able to establish Charities of Hope because of all the blessings that God has given me in my life. I looked at my life and realized that I wanted to give back something to another person that wasn't as fortunate as I have been.
I asked myself what I could do to make a difference in this sometimes difficult world. After much soul searching, I realized that I wanted to help children. I have a 10 year old son and I thank God he is healthy, but one never knows when tragedy will strike. I have a cousin Mary, who has two children and both of them have been diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia which attacks your cerebellum and spinal cord. They are both now confined to wheelchairs.
Charities of Hope has achieved non-profit status. I intend to work very hard to overcome the obstacles and make this charity a success. With determination, hard work, and the support of others, I know that I can accomplish my goal. My promise is that Charities of Hope will be run with honesty and integrity. Charities of Hope WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
I don't want Charities of Hope to be the biggest charitable organization but the one that gives the most back to charities. I truly thank everyone in my life for all their help and support in making this endeavor a reality and not jot just a dream."
